The MB13 Sniper Rifle is a good beginning foray into the airsoft sniper rifle feel, with an authentic bolt-action mechanism that works well on the field.

The external parts of the gun are decent. The metallic bolt, barrel, and bipod help the weapon feel more weighty and balanced overall. While using the rifle, I haven’t noticed any particular difficulties or weight imbalances that might throw the aim off. The other parts of the gun are made of polymer to both save on the cost and weight of the gun, which works well if you’re starting out and need a decent gun that you can upgrade. The polymer stock is borrowed from similar carbines and sniper rifles, allowing you to replace or upgrade it fairly easily.

The internals, however, feel like you’d need to upgrade them a bit to get the best performance out of the gun. Like with MB06, the stock options are fairly lackluster and won’t survive prolonged use. You should also keep in mind to properly wipe the inside of the barrel before using it, as it can come with a lot of grease, which might jam your weapon.

The MB13 shines in the optics department. The 3-9x scope included in the sniper rifle is one of the highest quality items of this build, and you probably won’t need to replace it anytime soon, especially if you get used to its performance.

The gun is compatible with a generous 30 round BB magazine, allowing you to get plenty of shots off before you need to reload. Unfortunately, the stock version only has a paltry 12 round magazine, so consider getting an upgrade as soon as you can.

What this gun optimizes is its price to ergonomics ratio. Weighing around nine pounds, this sniper rifle is fairly comfortable to use. The bolt locks securely in place before every shot and generates a satisfying sniper replica feel while in use.

The MB13 has decent accuracy and FPS numbers. The manufacturer claims 480 FPS with .2g BBs, but you’ll generally want to stick to heavier BBs to ensure a better precision on longer shots. The stock comes with an adjustable rest to pair with the bipod, but you don’t get a tripod feel out of the sniper while on the ground.

Well made sure to include everything you’d need right in the package. With the scope and bipod in the box and all the tools needed to adjust the sniper rifle according to your needs, the MB13 is a safe bet for a first choice. It will perform well and you can upgrade it easily down the line.

Let’s start with the external parts. They look and feel much better, and the metal outer barrel, magazine, trigger guard, sling adapter point and charging handle make for a much sturdier and durable model. However, the rest of the outside pieces are all made of plastic, which slightly lowers the gun’s overall build quality. Do note that the polymer used is of a decent standard and allows the gun to stay just under 4.5lbs in weight, making it more suitable for younger users.

The rail design on the barrel is interesting. With two six-rib side rails and a bottom 10-rib rail all adjustable and removable, you have a decent degree of customization. The top Picatinny rail also allows for all sorts of attachments if you want to outfit your gun to your desires. However, most of the keymod design on the outer barrel is purely cosmetic. You’re only able to use the rails on the sides and the bottom to adjust the Picatinny rails and use other attachments. While this might not be a huge sore point for a beginner, it’s something to keep in mind when discussing further customization options.

The detachable polymer stock has both good and bad points. The stock itself is easily opened to fit the factory-issues 9.6 nunchuck-style batteries. However, we’ve noticed that the stock can fall out relatively easily while adjusting its length. You also might need to tighten it up a bit, as it feels slightly flimsy. The inner barrel is 6.03mm wide, which is a somewhat dangerous choice. Higher quality .2g BBs are 5.95mm in diameter, which allows for space to move and prevents jams, but worse BBs might cause your gun to fail more easily. You should definitely use better BBs when handling this gun, but the ones that come with the rifle itself will do for a start.

The performance of the rifle could be accurately described as zippy. With the standard 9.6 nunchuck batteries and .2g BBs, it reaches around 380 FPS and has a fire rate of around 12 rounds per second. You can do some modifications on the metal box inside the gun itself to change these numbers according to your needs. In fact, the gun makes it fairly easy to do that, as you don’t have to open the metal box itself. However, the numbers out-of-the-box allow the gun to be safely used on the open field, which has a 400 FPS maximum. If you overload the gun with 11.1 batteries, you can get around 17 RPS with similar FPS performance, allowing for a much effective airsoft weapon.

I’m excited to bring you a review of this marvelous gun. The CXP-MARS carbine from ICS is one of the highest-quality rifles I’ve reviewed so far. The metal externals give this gun some real weight, reminiscent of real-life rifles compared to the usual polymer airsoft builds. The high-quality polymer stock and grip provide good weight balancing and an excellent hand feel while holding and aiming the rifle.

The CNC treated externals of the gun feature ICS’s markings prominently, but not so much that it becomes overbearing. The gun comes in a two-tone tan and black mix, but is also available in fully black or tan options as well, so you can choose the look of the gun you prefer. The gun’s stock is somewhat slimmer than some similar rifles, which also gives it one of the more obvious downsides, as it can only fit lipo batteries comfortably.

The gun comes with an extended Picatinny rail on the top, shorter Pic rails on the sides and front of the barrel, and also a proper keymod design running alongside the barrel. Altogether, the rails allow you to fit many different types of attachments to customize your gun’s appearance and functionality. The stock flip-up iron sights on the front and rear of the barrel can be detached if you prefer a better scope to use on the open field. But they serve the basic function well if you want to leave them as is. There are no rails on the bottom of the barrel, which can impede customization somewhat, but doesn’t factor greatly into the overall review.

The internals of the rifle are altogether great. The fully upgradable version two gearbox is fairly easy to open up and maintain, and the inner M120 spring is of decent quality that you can replace at your whim. But the stock ones will do the trick if you’re looking for a great out of the box experience.

The stock magazine comes with 300 round capacity and has a functional capacity window, so you can check on your remaining ammo quite quickly without the need to shake or remove the magazine beforehand. All of which allows for smoother gameplay. The magazine release is also recessed into the rifle so you won’t accidentally drop the magazine in the middle of a fight. The mag can be dropped with either hand, making this gun one of the better ambidextrous rifles on the market.

The gun fires at about 410 FPS, but can drop to 390s depending on the power source used, and is fairly accurate at mid- rather than longer range. The adjustable hop-up will improve the long-range situation, but don’t expect laser accuracy at more than 100 feet from this gun.

You can adjust the fire rate to be either a single or three-round burst by pressing on the trigger for 10 seconds, or you can switch to a fully automatic fire mode. This can be done with either hand.

The rifle isn’t particularly long, making it maneuverable for CQB spaces and open terrain alike. In addition, the ambidextrous capabilities allow you to take different cover opportunities when using the gun with your non-dominant hand while still being able to use it properly.

The ASG HERA CQR is a replica of a real-life rifle commonly used by police forces, and it is truly an innovative piece of airsoft technology. The externals are mostly made of metal, adding to the rifle’s weight, making it a whopping seven pounds when loaded – on par with the original gun. The ergonomically designed front grip and stock are something that you will need to get used to, but I experienced only minor problems adjusting to their unusual shapes. You might not like their geometry visually, but over time, I’ve noticed that the stock helps you aim a lot better than at first glance.

The gun comes with a four-sided Picatinny rail running alongside the short barrel, with a full-length top rail. The bottom rail, by default, is outfitted with the ergonomic handle. The rifle has a self-diagnostic system that will notify you of any errors via a multitude of LED lights in the gun.

The gun can pre-cock the trigger when it powers on, making the trigger distance shorter and ensuring faster response times for the first few bullets fired. This is especially useful for competitive matches and gameplay.

Performance-wise, the ASG HERA CQR is no slacker. It is rated for 360 FPS with .2g BBs, which is slightly higher than CQB limits. However, I’ve found that the rifle settles down to 340 FPS fairly quickly, making it suitable for battles more-or-less out of the box if you’ve fired some test rounds. The gun fires at a respectable 20 rounds per second in its fully automatic mode.

Taking it out on the firing range, the CQR has no problem reaching 50, 75, and 95 feet with almost laser precision. The gun has extremely crisp gear rotation and doesn’t feel overbearing at all to use. Granted, the buttstock was slightly awkward at first, but it felt pretty comfortable after I’ve had some time to adjust. The gun is sturdy and robust, and the metal adds much-needed weight that is balanced appropriately to ensure for a good aim.

The rifle is relatively short, making it extremely maneuverable in enclosed spaces, but the shape of the buttstock and grip might be a bit awkward on your wrist while you’re not aiming with it. The Elite Force H8R (or Hater) Gen 2 directly improves their previous H8R revolver model. While there’s no noticeable improvement in the build quality, there wasn’t a real need to improve the sturdiness of an already impressive pistol for airsoft skirmishes.

The revolver’s externals evoke a distinctly futuristic feel reminiscent of sci-fi games. Clearly, the makers wanted to separate this gun from replicas of existing models as much as possible. The only difference here from the original is that the new version has grey detailing on the reload button, hammer, and the trigger, which makes it less dull to look at for sure.

The main advantage of the Hater over other airsoft revolvers is its excellent carrying capacity. The rounded OREO-shaped magazine holds 10 BBs, can be easily refilled, and takes very little time to replace in the field, especially compared to standard revolvers. As an added bonus, the Hater comes with four additional magazines, allowing you to carry up to 50 combat-ready bullets straight out of the box (provided you fill the magazines up, of course).

What separates the Gen 2 from its predecessor is the addition of an adjustable hop-up. Turning the provided tool key into the small hole on the top of the revolver adjusts its range. This allows the Hater to shoot at a distance of 100 feet comfortably. Let’s compare that to Gen 1, which already experienced a significant falloff at anything over 50 feet. The new iteration is a more well-rounded sidearm for open fields due to its programmable range and excellent performance in its class.

The green plastic fiber optics iron sights adds to the revolver’s appeal and helps you line up long-range shots, further adding to this pistol’s capabilities.

If you want to customize your airsoft pistol, the Hater comes with two 22mm Picatinny rails, one on the top and the other on the bottom of barrel, allowing you to put your favorite targeting accessories on it.

An additional benefit of the Hater that can be often overlooked is the hidden Allen key in the grip. By taking the Allen key with the gun at all times, you can ensure that you’re always ready for airsoft action.

The shots of the revolver are generally precise and uniform. A full Co2 canister will allow for about 120 firings before the power output becomes too low for comfort. The max muzzle velocity of the gun reaches about 350 FPS, averaging out to 330 FPS across the entire canister as you slowly empty it.

When it comes to ammo, if you prefer mid-to-longer range skirmishes, we’d recommend using .23 or .25 BBs. The heavier-than-standard ammunition will perform better at longer range.

The revolver is pretty easy-to-use, and the safety at the back of the hammer prevents any unintended shots. The heftiness of the gun adds to the genuine feel of firing during an airsoft match. The gun is not too heavy to impede on aiming and skirmishing during a game, therefore, the Hater won’t slow you down.

Overall, the Hater is one of the most reliable airsoft revolvers you’ll ever get your hands on, and the Gen 2 makes leaps in improving an already great design. Hey guys, today we’re going to review the Well MB08 L96, the same platform the AWM and AWP are based on, and an update to Well’s MB01 L96 airsoft sniper rifle.

Well’s MB08 L96 is a new and improved update of the MB01, with higher quality externals and a more solid full metal receiver and barrel and thick, solid, polymer stock. It’s one of the best sniper rifles I’ve reviewed in terms of externals and exterior build quality, with a very well-designed folding stock that folds in the middle just like the real L96/AWM/AWP. The internals, however, looked and felt cheap and fragile and intended to be replaced, which makes the Well MB08 L96 a very competitive alternative to the JG BAR-10 for custom upgrade potential, but you should think twice about purchasing this bolt-action sniper rifle to use stock.

One of the things the MB08 does well is ergonomics and comfort, which is a theme you’ll find everywhere on this sniper rifle. Well’s L96 comes with a no-frills 3x-9x scope with basic crosshair but with 2.5 inch eye relief. It also comes with an adjustable metal bipod that extends to 10 inches, as well as an optional monopod on the back that extends for more comfort. The MB08 L96 also features an adjustable cheek pad and rubber butt pad, all within an ergonomic design; however, the cheek pad adjustment is just two somewhat flimsy bolts, so you’ll probably want to leave it as is. Despite being mostly metal, the Well MB08 L96 weighs at 10 pounds max with scope, bipod, and magazine included.

The true stock version of the MB08 shoots at a max of 420 FPS with 0.20g BBs; however, you’ll want to use something heavier if you’re taking longer shots. The FPS was also a little volatile ranging +/- FPS where the standard is typically 10 FPS at most. There are also higher FPS versions that come with a stronger spring for an additional few bucks.

The MB08 L96’s accuracy was pretty good despite the range in FPS, and I didn’t need to adjust the hop-up at all to get solid shots with an impressive backspin, another convenience included in Well’s sniper rifle. For full disclosure, however, the hop-up looked very flimsy and I was afraid to mess with it much as the sniper rifle we used for shooting was a (new) loaner.

The rifle comes with everything you need to get started, which I give Well credit for. Most sniper rifles don’t come with a scope and often don’t include all the tools and parts you need for assembly, and the MB08 came ready to use stock. It includes tools for assembly, a 3x-9x scope with eye relief and transparent amber caps, a (cheap) sling, and a speedloader. The receiver also features a complete picatinny rail mounting system and full metal bolt.

Most players that I talked to that use or have used the Well MB08 L96 used it as an upgrade platform, or were planning upgrades, and were very happy with it. The externals are extremely high-quality and when combined with high-quality precision internals, the L96 is incredibly accurate its performance mirrors the look and feel of the attractive exterior of the rifle.

The Well MB08 L96 has solid and very attractive externals, and looks and feels like a real L96/AWM sniper rifle. The satisfying folding stock click is enough to make you just want to pick this up, even when you’re not using it. It’s ergonomic, it’s balanced, and it’s comfortable to use and carry. Being based on the L96 platform, there is wide availability and selection of upgrade parts.

Its disappointing internals, hop-up, and cheek rest adjustment knobs make this a poor choice for a stock sniper rifle; although, most airsofters that purchase airsoft sniper rifles for regulation play don’t use stock rifles to begin with.

If you’re an avid airsofter who enjoys the sniper role and are looking for an upgrade platform with fantastic externals and a balanced rifle, the Well MB08 L96 is a very solid choice, in every sense of the word. But if you’re considering using this rifle with its stock internals for casual use or shooting around the backyard or woods, be prepared to replace or upgrade the internals if/as they break.

Hey airsoft snipers! Today we’re going to review the JG BAR-10, JG’s cheaper stock alternative to the Tokyo Marui VSR-10. The BAR-10 and VSR-10 are the two most popular sniper platforms to start as upgrade projects, and the BAR-10’s much lower price tag will give you the freedom and leftover budget to really put your custom upgrades and tweaks into a custom sniper rifle. We’ll also be assuming that some of you are also just looking to use this sniper rifle stock, and that’s okay: we’ll give you both sides of JG’s most popular BASR (bolt-action sniper rifle).

Although even out of the box, the JG Bar 10 is one of the best stock airsoft sniper rifles, the real power and performance comes when you upgrade this BASR with custom internals. Intended as an upgrade platform, the manufacturer kept things very simple and very cheap for easier compatibility and lower price margin for third party accessories.

There are several different variations on the JG Bar 10 that you may run into. There are two different versions of the rifle: the standard BAR-10 and the more compact G-SPEC version. You’ll also see some sold as “450 FPS” or “500 FPS” versions; these are the same rifle just with different strength internal springs in them.

The specs for the JG BAR-10 are already suitable for larger outdoor fields with a good muzzle velocity and lightweight design, so you can already imagine its potential after the desired adjustments. However, let’s look at its simplest form before getting into the modifications.

Each package is delivered with rails and mount for all the most common add-ons like a bi-pod, sling and scope. It also includes a speed loader and 30-round magazine.

As a stock model, it is already suitable for airsoft warfare with an impressive muzzle velocity of around 370-400 fps with 0.25g BBs and around 400-450 fps using 0.20g BBs (Editor’s Note: depends on spring included, the version we link to is cheaper and has a weaker spring as it is intended to eventually get replaced and upgraded anyway). You can expect a maximum range of 190 feet (stock) so you can hit your targets from a considerable distance.

If you prefer using the brand recommended accessories instead of creating your own setup from different manufacturers, you can choose an option with the bi-pod and/or scope already included. These extras come at a friendly price and are a safe bet for a lot of fun on the field. There are also versions that are pre-upgrades with more powerful springs for 450 or 500 FPS versions.

The JG-Bar 10 is probably the best stock sniper rifle for the experienced, budget-conscious airsoft sniper. The fact that the BAR-10 is less than half the price of the Tokyo Marui VSR-10 leaves you a bigger budget and more freedom of putting money into the upgrades of the gun, and thanks to the BAR-10 being built on the sniper gold standard VSR-10 model, the sky is the limit as far as upgrade and add-on selection and availability.

Even left in its stock setup, the muzzle velocity is good enough for outdoor play which is more than you can say for many other models. A few tweaks and you get even more power and precision. As long as you don’t depend on the stock BAR-10 being a laser beam, and plan on it needing some improvement and TLC in the form of eventual upgrades, you and your BAR-10 will get along just fine.
